Fathom Consulting was founded in 2003 by Danny Gabay in order to build a new kind of independent macroeconomic consultancy. Erik Britton, who joined as Co-Director in 2007, along with our Chief Economist and COO Andrew Brigden (joined 2005), together lead our macroeconomists and strategist who offer broad-based regional and industry-specific expertise across the public and private sectors.
Fathom now has more than 100 global clients in Europe, the US and Asia – including large corporations across the industrial spectrum, a number of major financial institutions, governments and policy groups.
Fathom Consulting’s forecasting has outperformed that of the IMF and the Reuters consensus significantly since 2007 – our one-year-ahead GDP forecasts have been over 30% more accurate across the G7, and nearly 50% more accurate in the UK. We have a consistently sound track record.
Today we offer clients a range of packages – encompassing macroeconomic research, forecasting, bespoke macroeconomic consultancy and access to exclusive events with high-level guest speakers. We produce regional and global research notes issued several times per week; and a quarterly Global Economic and Markets Outlook, which we privately present to clients. Subscribers to our services are also granted access to a suite of easy-to-use interactive econometric applications and models, available in our clientzone.
Our consultancy services are entirely independent and cover everything from bespoke research projects to asset allocation advice, across a range of areas from property to pensions. Our quarterly Economic Outlooks, Monetary Policy Forums and off-the-record roundtables are invitation-only and feature thought leaders from across the corporate landscape and the financial and political spectrum, including Dr Vince Cable, Prof Charles Bean and Dame DeAnne Julius.
