UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has pledged to make Britain’s power system carbon neutral by 2035. The policy is a key pillar of the UK’s climate strategy ahead of COP26 and will form a key part of the UK’s plan to achieve its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) of net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 and reducing economy-wide GHG emissions by at least 68% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.
